How to Volunteer

It is easy to become your neighborhood hero! Forest View’s goal is to make the application process informative and exciting for prospective members. You can even ride-along before submitting your application*!

*Ride-along program available with permission from the Chief of Operations or his designee.

Applying

  • Sign-up for a ride-along for a night.
  • Complete the online application and submit to the Vice President
  • Obtain a doctor’s note clearing you to ride on the ambulance, a copy of your DMV driving record, and complete a background check. Don’t worry, Forest View will help with this process!
  • Interview with the Vice President and the Operations team
  • Membership application is voted on by the Board

Now You’re a Member

  • Obtain uniforms, building keys and other equipment from Operations
  • Active members are assigned to crews
  • Each new member receives a day-long orientation program
  • Members train with their crews and become cleared “assistants”
  • Member begins training to become an EMT
  • Additional training opportunities are available to EMTs, including vehicle operation, HazMat awareness, Incident Command and many more
  • Begin training to become an Attendant in Charge or Emergency Driver
