How to Volunteer
It is easy to become your neighborhood hero! Forest View’s goal is to make the application process informative and exciting for prospective members. You can even ride-along before submitting your application*!
*Ride-along program available with permission from the Chief of Operations or his designee.
Applying
- Sign-up for a ride-along for a night.
- Complete the online application and submit to the Vice President
- Obtain a doctor’s note clearing you to ride on the ambulance, a copy of your DMV driving record, and complete a background check. Don’t worry, Forest View will help with this process!
- Interview with the Vice President and the Operations team
- Membership application is voted on by the Board
Now You’re a Member
- Obtain uniforms, building keys and other equipment from Operations
- Active members are assigned to crews
- Each new member receives a day-long orientation program
- Members train with their crews and become cleared “assistants”
- Member begins training to become an EMT
- Additional training opportunities are available to EMTs, including vehicle operation, HazMat awareness, Incident Command and many more
- Begin training to become an Attendant in Charge or Emergency Driver
